Preheating oil in your RANGEMATE can help create a crispier, more evenly browned finish.
Because overheated oil can smoke or burn, always follow the guidelines below.
How to Preheat Oil
Preheating time may vary depending on the amount of oil used and your microwave wattage.
- Add oil to the pan and microwave forย 1โ2 minutes.
- Start withย 1 minuteย of preheating.
- If more heat is needed, continue inย 30-second incrementsย until you find the right timing for your microwave.
- Add your ingredients and cook forย 3โ5 minutes.
- Flip and cook for anotherย 1โ2 minutes.
- If the center is still undercooked, continue cooking inย 1โ2 minute increments, flipping as needed.
For Thick, Cheese-Filled Cutlets
For thick breaded cutlets filled with cheese, cook both sides first until the exterior is crisp and golden.
Then leave the cutlet in the RANGEMATE forย 3โ5 minutes using the panโs residual heatย to help the cheese melt and the center finish heating through.
Important Safety Guidelines
- Do not preheat oil for more than 2 minutes.
- Overheated oil may begin to smoke or burn.
- If available, we recommend using anย infrared cooking thermometerย to check the oil temperature.
- For a crispier exterior, aim for an oil temperature of approximatelyย 340โ355ยฐF (170โ180ยฐC).
Keep Fried Foods Crisp
Fried or breaded foods can become soggy when left to cool in an enclosed space because trapped steam creates condensation.
For better results, transfer the food to a wire rack after cooking. This allows excess steam to escape and helps the coating stay crisp longer.
